“You Have to Measure... to Find the Real Picture of Your Health!"

"Lower blood cholesterol levels are linked to lower rates of heart disease, cancer and other Western diseases."
~Dr. Colin Campbell

How many people have you known who seemed to be in perfect health and then they died... or they had a heart attack, or a stroke or even a cancer diagnosis?  The older you get the more often you hear of that happening to people you know.

What if there was a simple test that could at least give you some warning before a life-altering disease happened to you?  Well, there is.  Just get 4 simple blood tests that measure your: 1.) total cholesterol; 2.) LDL cholesterol; 3.) triglyerides; and 4.) fasting glucose.  These four simple blood tests can give you important information about the state of your health.  Add in your BMI and your blood pressure results and you can get some excellent baseline information.

You can often get these important tests through your primary care physician, but an even more convenient way is to sign up online and then go get your blood drawn at a local lab. For $89 you can get a series of tests through Health Testing Centers called the "Essential Health Screening" which includes the four tests listed above, plus a whole lot more.

Join us for a series of talks at the Natural Grocers in Tyler and find out whether your results put you in the "excellent" health category or whether you need to change something before you become one of those people who dies too young.

Combine this information with the usual New Year's resolutions that many people make to "get healthier" and you have the perfect opportunity to actually change your numbers.

Have you often made New Year's Resolutions or tried to start new habits at the beginning of the year, but ended up abandoning your efforts?  Maybe it was too lonely, maybe you didn't see any results, maybe you got bored, maybe you just knew you needed to lose weight, but didn't really think it was that important.  Whatever the reason, you certainly had motivation and good intentions when you started.

People often tell me that they would love to change their lifestyle or they would love to lose weight or they would love to get healthy.  If you have ever been in a gym during January, you know most people think a gym membership is the way to health. I'm not saying a gym membership is bad, but I am saying that the food you put in your body is three or four times more important for your health than just working out.

Too often we assume that if our cholesterol is too high or our blood pressure is too high, the doctor can just give us a pill.  Did you know that prescription medications are the third leading cause of death in the US - right behind heart disease and cancer?  They cause more deaths than automobile accidents!

We have been so trained in our culture that everyone of us will get one of the big diseases (heart disease, cancer, stroke or diabetes) as we age, that we don't even think to question that assumption. We just assume those people who do live long, healthy lives are lucky and we hope to be as lucky. But, what if you could find that "fountain of youth" for yourself?  What if you could actually live a long and healthy life with some certainty?  Wouldn't you want to?

You are the one person who is responsible for your health.  You can't leave it to your doctor, or your spouse and you especially can't leave your health up to your kids.  It all falls back on you and the decisions you make.

Come join us and learn how to measure your health, why it's important and how to make sure your numbers are in the excellent range. If you apply what you learn, you will lose weight, you will have more energy and you will probably be able to get off of your medications. What better way to start the New Year?
