Presenters

Dr. Rick Coker will discuss the concept of developing the practice you want and narrowing your focus.  He will also discuss the value of the treatment coordinator position as he has seen the concept work in his practice.

Dr. Coker has been practicing aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry in Tyler, Texas since he graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch in 1972.  He has completed the Pete Dawson workshops, has finished the Pankey Continuum, was an active member of Avrom King's Nexus Network, has attended most of Omer Reed's Napili workshops, and has completed the Anterior Esthetics and Occlusion course at the Hornbrook Group.

Dr. Coker has also been active in education within dentistry.  He served as president of the Texas Academy of Dental Practice Administration, was Marketing Chairman for the Texas Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, was on the board of directors of the Association for Contemporary Dental Education (ACDE), and currently serves as a Board member of the Genr8Tnext internet dental group.  He has lectured in several areas of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry and the use of an NTI within a cosmetic practice.  He and his wife, Melinda, regularly host meetings in Tyler.

Cindy Barnett is a treatment coordinator for Dr. Rick Coker's Smile Studio in Tyler, Texas.  She will discuss the way she handles new patients in the practice by listening to them and building relationships.

Cindy has worked in dentistry since 1984 and has worked for Dr. Coker nearly 10 years.  Cindy has been a clinical assistant for a periodontist and two general dentists. She came to the Smile Studio as a chairside assistant, but moved to the "treatment coordinator" position three years ago.  Her perspective on the value a treatment coordinator can add to the dental office is something you must hear. Cindy has attended the Hornbrook Occlusion course and the NTI Restorative Summit.

STARR (Marcia Lambert) is a dynamic speaker who will paint the picture of how you can begin to build a focus (niche) for your practice.  She will also discuss the importance of finding and using a treatment coordinator in your office.

Director of CustomCare, STARR offers a uniquely different approach to dental consulting. It is NOT practice management – it is marketing from the PATIENTS’ point of view . Taking a look at how patients determine the value of services and then creating more ways to expand that message,  “Starr’s” coaching insures that dentists give patients much better dentistry and themselves greater satisfaction, less stress and a higher income with fewer patients.

Her own personal success in the dental arena as a Patient Care Coordinator for general and specialty practices, and her background in sales and marketing in the business sector, has garnered her awards and recognition in both fields. She is also a published author and sought-after motivational speaker.
